Circle has now held 2 Modern and Contemporary East African Art Auctions with great success. 2013 grossed Ksh 18.5 million in sales and 2014 raised Ksh 18.8 million with between 87- 90% of the Lots sold.
We select around 50 Lots by East African artists, which we have acquired either directly from artists, art collectors from around the world and art organisations across the region.
From modern works that may have been hidden in private collections since the 70s to cutting edge contemporary art direct from artists, we select a wide range or artworks from across the region; Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Sudan.
Procedure – Registration & Bidding
All buyers must register to bid prior to a sale and are requested to provide photographic proof of ID and if requested, a bank reference.
For those leaving Absentee bids, please provide details of Lots on which you wish to place bids at least 24 hours prior to the sale.

A buyers’ premium of 15% + VAT (17.4%) is levied on top of the hammer price. Sales are conducted in Kenyan Shillings with Dollar estimates using the current rate of exchange.
